metro manila is under a state of calamity. no-brainer. 80 percent of metro manila is submerged in our own filth. pasig-cainta area —where we are—is one of the worst-hit places in the metro. Other Half and i are lucky that the floodwaters didn’t enter the house; it only reached the garage and thankfully the cars weren’t damaged or anything.
our neighbors aren’t that lucky. this was taken this morning.

and some most parts of pasig and cainta are still submerged under water. water level in some subdivisions in our area is already up to the roofs. these floodwaters don’t have anywhere to go as all 3 rivers (pasig, marikina and the floodway) here are already overflowing.

28-Sep-2009 1Hi there,
Where in Pasig are you located? Do you know how deep the water was at Sta. Lucia BLISS (beside Soldiers’ Village) along Floodway? My family is there and I haven’t been able to reach them. I am in Australia.
Thanks,
Trinitz

29-Sep-2009 3Thanks anyway. I got a text msg from my bro last night saying electricity has not been restored. Unfortunately my reply did not get through and his cellphone is unreachable, maybe it ran out of batt. Things should improve within today and I should be able to contact them.

29-Sep-2009 4hi trinitz, the cellphone signal is sketchy here due to damaged cell sites. plus a lot of areas under water still do not have electricity. we are the few lucky ones in pasig-cainta who have power and running water. we hope things improve and that tropical depression threatening the philippines just move away.
